Pine View School is a Sarasota County public school for the intellectually gifted student, grades 2-12, located on 74 acres in the middle of Sarasota County. 

Pine View Campus Design

The campus plan emulates the Thomas Jefferson design at the University of Virginia, with departmental buildings surrounding a central quadrangle. The campus includes a freestanding media center, with a collection of over 22,000 items, a state-of-the-art gymnasium, student center and central auditorium.

Pine View Special Programs

• Academic Olympics: Select students compete in a quiz-like format with their peers from other county high schools.
• Artists in Residency Program: The artists utilize visual and performing arts to link academic subjects through creatively designed activities that build sequentially and emphasize the learning process.
• Character Education: TAPS is a character education program designed to encourage tutoring of peers and assisting staff members.
• Extensive Guidance Programs: The elementary and middle school staff initiated an effective program designed to meet the social, emotional and developmental needs of the students.
• Externship Program: Offers an externship program for seniors to work with professionals in the community, providing hands-on experience in a real-life setting.
• Math Counts: This program is a middle school competition for students that excel in math and are willing to accept the challenge of inter-scholastic competition.
• Technology: A comprehensive technology curriculum offering extensive opportunities in all grades.
• Student Senate: The high school offers a Student Senate composed of eight elected representatives.
• Student Service Programs: Key Club, K-Kids Club, Z-Club, The Peer Mentoring Program
• Visual and Performing Arts: To encourage creative expression and to develop skills and talents in all areas of learning, students in Pine View are exposed to quality and advanced opportunities in art, music, vocal, and drama.
• Eighth Grade Sports: Students are eligible to participate in the sports program, which competes against the six other area middle schools in the following sports: tennis, golf, co-ed volleyball, basketball, and track and field.
• Intramurals: Offers a strong intramural program for grades 6-12. The environment is one of fun and enjoyment, rather than an emphasis on strict competition.

Family/Community Involvement: 15,000 Volunteer Hours, Active Parent Association, Fall Fair, Numerous Orchestra and Drama Performances, School Advisory Council, Shared Decision Making Team.
